Free Style - Plum Rayon Fabric by Cotton and Steel

Rayon is a soft fabric with a beautiful drape. It tends to wobble when it gets cut with scissors, so feel free to use a piece of newsprint or muslin cotton to help stabilize it when cutting.

This fabric is an excellent intermediate fabric for making flowing dresses, tops and skirts. It's also lovely for bedding, quilt backs, pyjamas or as an easier to work with substitute for silk. Work with a microtex needle and silk pins for best results.

This fabric may shrink 2-3% so best practice is to wash in warm water before making garments with it. Pillows and quilt backings do not need to be pre-shrunk.

This is fabric is OEKO-TEX certified. Rayon is made from wood pulp, which is renewable, grown without pesticides and it is also biodegradable, a process which returns carbon to the soil and enriches it. Rayon it does not produce micro-plastics during its lifecycle.
